We have had Old English Sheepdogs for the past 15 years. Topper was our last, and died far too young, at age four. I also competed in sheepherding trials with him. At the time of his death, he was the highest ranked OES in the USA in herding trials.
Most importantly, he was my best buddy. He loved people, and his favorite way to greet people was to go up to them, and lean against them. As a friend of mine put it, he'd lean against you until you just about fell over!
His full name was Chipchase Topper Runabout.

He also had one leg toward his HRDIIs and HTDIIs titles, and at this writing was the only OES to qualify on a ranch style course in any organization.
He loved herding ducks. In all the trials on ducks that he competed in, he never failed to place in the class. In his last six duck herding trials, he had 3 first place finishes, 1 second, 1 third and 1 fourth place finish.
