If you've come to this page, you are interested in the problems that the various browsers are giving those of us doing web site programming. In short, when we write code for one browser, it doesn't necessarily work for all the mainstream browsers, let alone the older ones.

This is especially true of the ongoing war of standards between Netscape and Microsoft's Internet Explorer. We have to put two codes in at certain times, to achieve the same effect in both browsers. Let alone the browsers that don't support frames, as Mosaic does not. You begin to see the problems we are encountering. To give you an idea, I have four different sets of pages at this site, in order to handle all browsers I can think of.

Hopefully, you came here before and signed the petition that was delivered to both Netscape and Microsoft. The great news is that both companies agreed to the idea behind the petition. Now there is a second petition. To learn more about this one, which has been agreed to by Microsoft and Netscape, among others, there is a second petition, along with some articles about this issue.
