Clancy was the first Old English Sheepdog I ever knew. He was also the first dog I ever had the pleasure to live with.
When we started dating, Diana brought Clancy on our first date. He had first rights of refusal. If he didn't like me, there was not going to be a second date. He and I fell instantly in love, and the rest is history.
Clancy and Diana had an incredible bond. She always knew how he was feeling. When he first got sick, Diana knew something was terribly wrong before we ever got to the vet. Clancy told her, only as he could.
He was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma at far too young an age. He was just seven years old when he was diagnosed. He went through a year of chemotherapy. The vet told us that if it were not for his wonderful temperment, he would not have been able to stand all the medical proceedures he went through to try and save his life. In the end, he sucummed to cancer after a year of valiantly fighting.
He's now waiting at rainbow bridge for us.
