We have thirteen cats. They all have different stories about how they came to live with us.

All of them are rescues. Kitten, our oldest, is a long haired calico. We originally named her Autumn, but she responds to Kitten. She came to us about fifteen years ago, on haloween. Some neighbood kids knocked on the door, and asked Diana if we'd lost a cat, and presented us with her. Well, we couldn't say no, could we?

Zoey was found by friends of ours. They asked if we would take her in, which of course we said yes.

Lenny and Kenny are with us because of some rescue work we did a few years ago. By the time we finished that rescue project, those three were home with us.

Eric was abandoned by a local nursing home when the home was relocated. We think that Eric belonged to one of the residents, but we never were able to find his owner. He is three feet long, from his nose to his tail and all love.

Hiss and Spit are named that because for the first year they lived with us, that is all they did. We put them in a large great dane size cage, so they would be safe. At this point, Hiss has become very friendly, while spit will only let us touch her nose rarely.

Teddy, Crystal and Squeaker are part of another rescue project that we were involved in. There were about ten cats living in the parking lot where I worked, including a liter of six kittens. Administration was going to take them all to the shelter, so I trapped them all and took them home with us. We had them spayed and neutered. The feral cats were released into our backyard, and they promptly took off. Two of them took up residence in a house down the street. Our three kittens stayed.

Winston was rescued from the pound. When I was there looking for a lost animal for a friend, he pawed his cage when he saw me, so much that I could not say no.

Finally, there is Benny. Benny showed up at a friend's house one day and took up residence in their garage. They could not keep him, so they called us.

They all get along great. They get along well with the dogs too. Crystal and Kailie are such great friends that they cuddle up together!
