This is the story of a rescue project we became involved in. At my work, we found ten feral cats, including a liter of six kittens, living in the parking lot. The kittens were about 4-6 weeks old.
Our administrator was concerned about them, and how they may be killed by cars in the parking lot. After discussing this with me, and I further talked with Diana, we decided to take action. All ten of them temporarily went to our house, and we closed them up in one room together, while we took care of health issues, and had the adults (four of them) Spayed or Neutered.
Unfortunately, three of the kittens from the liter were very sick. The vet thought that they had horrible flea allergies, amongst other parasite infections. We had them tested and found all this to be true. After working with the vet, giving them IV antibiotics, and lots of tender loving care, the three weak ones died.
The other three survived, as did the adults. We decided to keep the three surviving kittens. You'll find a page about them linked from the cat page on the menu above.
These poor little kittens never stood a chance. I know that we gave them love while they were with us, and that we will see them again at Rainbow Bridge.
